Sarah Scheening

Founder & CEO


Prior to Open Development, Sarah spent five years advising USAID on aid effectiveness and health sector reforms and was a Program Officer with the Institute of Medicine at the National Academies of Sciences. She began her career at Kaiser Permanente in California, the largest integrated managed care organization in the United States, with a focus on quality and e-health. Sarah holds a MPP from Duke University and a BA and Certificate in Public Health from UNC-Chapel Hill. She was a Fellow with the WHO Commission on Intellectual Property, Innovation and Public Health, and in the Office of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
